What is Classics and 21st Century Cars All About

As a Petrol head myself I've always loved cars in general but what I'm most passionate about would definitely be classics..

Most people don't realise the difference between a classic and an older car that still has that race car engine.

A classic car commonly has a rich history behind and keeps it's value if not increases its value over a number of years..
If I had a Mercedes Benz SL300 from a junk yard and built it up from scratch it would still be worth millions in my books..
However if it would be a new Mercedes C Class I'd probably leave it lying there. Well, that's just my way of differentiating between the two..

What you'd find on this blog would be Classics and the story behind it. As well as the new reformed version of it. Sometimes the two would be compared and I'll let you decide which one is better!

The Volkswagen Type 2 commonly known as the "Hippie Van"

The 1960's classic, Volkswagen's Type 2

The Volkswagen Hippie Van

This classic was commonly seen as art work. Symbolic to the era it was established. Even in the 21st century it is seen as something of value. the Peace sign is something most Hippie Vans will have as well as colourful pictures or flowers. This van is for those who are more artistic and on the go, I'd say.

Where does the term "Hippie" come from?

The trend "Hippie" was or is a culture originally from a  youth movement that arose in the United States of America during the 1960's and soon after spread around the world. The term 'Hippie' came from the word 'hipster' which was it's own culture and/or community. Hipster's had the own way of dressing and listened to  psychedelic rock, embraced the  sexual revolution and some say they had used drugs such as  cannabis and  magic mushrooms. People from all ages are still living in a world embracing the Hippie culture.
